Calendar Challenge 1

As well as our monthly themed challenges we will also be setting a new challenge each month based on Barbara's 2016 calendar.

For those that have already bought a calendar you will know that Barbara has showcased a piece of her artwork each month and then supplied step by step instructions on how it was made.

Our second challenge of the month will be to follow the step by step instructions and create a piece of artwork of your own. The trees that have been used are the Winter Trees, but if you don't have these please use any other Clarity tree stamp.

The judging will be done by Barbara herself and the winner will receive a £50 Clarity voucher.  Are you up for the challenge?

The artwork for January is entitled "A New Day is Dawning"

Here's the theme for our new challenge which will run throughout January:

Say It With Flowers
(using Clarity stamps/stencils/groovi ONLY)

Here's an easy challenge to start the year.  We all need to make cards with flowers on don't we?  So here's your chance to add a card to the pile for when you need one.

Flowers can be for all occasions - birthdays, sympathy, weddings etc so we should get quite a different selection entered for this challenge.

There are plenty of stampsstencils and Groovi products to choose from, so come on give it a go!! Make it your New Years resolution to take part each month.

Always remember to read the rules to avoid your entry being disqualified.

Good luck with the challenge!!

(Guest Designer - Winner from challenge 33)

Hello my name is Sandy Filer and I live down on the south coast in Dorchester Dorset.  I am retired and live with my husband Chris and son Richard.

I have always enjoyed making things and my first love has always been sewing in some form or other, either clothes for myself or things for the home.  I started making cards about 10 years ago and I am now hooked. I like to try all sorts of different techniques. I am loving the Groovi system and plan to really get to grips with it over the next few months.  I am one of those people who likes the end result of parchment craft but have neither the time or patience to do it the traditional way.

I am secretary of our local WI and we often have craft evenings when we get everyone doing some form of paper craft which they all seem to enjoy.

I have entered the challenge on occasions but not regularly, perhaps my new year’s resolution should be to challenge myself on a regular basis.

Happy crafty New Year to everyone
