We thought it would be nice to have spotlight posts throughout the month dedicated to our top 5 from the last challenge "SCENE BUILDING"  We hope you enjoy reading about their crafting journey and you never know it could be you in the spotlight next month.

Originally from Edinburgh, I now live in the little valley town of Darvel in East Ayrshire although as we speak I'm packing boxes and on the move again.  I'm married with three grown up children and two cats.

I've been crafting now for over 6 years and started out making cards for family and friends.  This has progressed to selling them, along with other little makes, artwork and a few demos for the local Girl Guides.

I love to play about with all the things that are available today in the crafting world (big jump from computer generated clip art) but I have to confess that my favourite is stamping, especially with Clarity stamps.  They are so versatile and well made, I rave about them all the time.  I love watching Barbara Gray demonstrate and have managed to see her in Glasgow twice having got a piece of her work during a demo earlier this year which takes pride of place in my craft room.

I started a blog last year mainly due to the Clarity Stamp Challenge and I've enjoyed taking part and being in touch with other crafters.  My family can only take so much before their eyes mist over.  It's lovely to see what other people achieve and to feel a part of this community of such creative people.

I'm very very happy and honoured to have been picked in the Top 5 for this challenge as there were such a lot of lovely cards entered.  A big thank you to all the design team, hugs to all and happy crafting!

We thought it would be nice to have spotlight posts throughout the month dedicated to our top 5 from the last challenge "SCENE BUILDING"  We hope you enjoy reading about their crafting journey and you never know it could be you in the spotlight next month.

My crafting began as a child when I watched my mother making my dresses on an old treadle sewing machine.  I learnt to use the machine and went on to do Saturday morning dressmaking classes.  Since then I have dabbled in numerous crafts including crochet, flower arranging, cake decorating and cross stitch.  All these crafts I've enjoyed at various times in my life and for different reasons.  Definitely a 'Jack of all trades, master of none'.

I broke my hip several years ago and a friend told me to watch the Create and Craft channel as she thought I might find something to do to keep me entertained.  Barbara was on demonstrating and I became fascinated with what she was doing. At the time it was pure entertainment value and I never considered having a go.

When I recovered, a neighbour invited me to a card making class in the village hall and I was hooked! I really enjoyed these sessions but in the early days I always managed to be the one who messed up the stamping.  As Barbara became more popular and got more exposure on TV my interest grew but my own stamping didn't seem to improve.

Whilst browsing the Clarity website a few years ago I noticed that Barbara was running a workshop in Little Baddow in Essex.  I booked my place and it was a great day, I even bought a few stamps to 'play' with.  I've since been to another Little Baddow workshop and then joined a local monthly Clarity workshop run by one of the Clarity design team, Janet Pring, at Great Blakenham in Suffolk.  As luck would have it, the venue is only 10 minutes away from home.  The group enjoy the sessions and it's good to consolidate what I've watched on TV.  I've also tried techniques that I would think twice about trying at home....alone.  I'm now well and truly hooked and looking forward to fitting in as many of Janet's workshops as I can this year.

Card making is limited so I love the challenge, but have to work with a small number of stamps as I am still building up my stash.

I was delighted to be chosen in the top 5 and would like to thank the team for their comments and for all the encouragement they have given me.

I live in the south west of England and work full time as a Textile Designer & Development Manager, so I’m constantly being creative working with design and colour, which I love.

In my spare time I love all types of arts and crafts as well as working with multimedia, particularly altered art, paint, clay, plaster, die cutting, stamps and lots of colour and texture.

I’m currently on the DecoArt International Design Team, so I love using paints on my projects particularly with the Gelli Plate and Clarity stencils.

I’ve always crafted and enjoy trying new techniques and projects.  I also make jewellery, pottery and even sugar craft.  I love marzipan and icing!

In the digital world I use Craft Artist and Adobe Photoshop for image manipulation, taking stamped images and textured backgrounds and incorporate them into digital projects such as scrapbooking and journalling.

I, like many, discovered Clarity products through Barbara’s brilliant TV workshops.  Clarity's quality and detail is incredible along with the amazing diversity of styles.  I enjoy the monthly challenges as they are always inspiring and love to see everyone’s work.

I've always been interested in arts and crafts and have dabbled in may different things over the years, but have finally found my niche in card making.

I first started card making for my family and friends in 2011 after it cost a small fortune to buy my Christmas cards from a well known high street store.  Naive of me I know, but I thought I could make my own cards for far less.  Little did I know that it would become a bit of an obsession and as crafters you know what it's like, there's always something that we 'need'.

I really like the fact that each card is a little piece of artwork and to see the enjoyment that they bring to others is wonderful.  I wouldn't have missed it for the world to see how thrilled my niece was to have a birthday card with her name on it when the spelling was unusual.

I first saw Barbara Gray and Clarity on Create and Craft and was totally hooked when I later saw her doing demonstrations at the NEC in November 2012.  Since then I've learnt so many new techniques and thoroughly enjoyed attending one of Barbara's workshops in August 2013.

I look forward to the challenge each month and the chance of winning a £50 voucher to spend on more Clairty goodies.  I was thrilled when I found out that my concertina card had been picked by the DT as one of the top 5, it's a real honour when the quality of the other entries was so high.

Being part of the challenge each month inspired me to set up a blog last year (with a bit of help from my friends) and I love to see and share inspiration with all my crafting buddies both at Clarity and on facebook.

Have you entered this months challenge yet?  If not check out all of the entries so far and the projects from the design team, they are all so inspirational.

My name's Janet and I'm from Stourbridge in the West Midlands.  I work as a GP receptionist which is a necessity to fund my craft habit.

I've been crafting since I was a little girl and have tried most things over the years, but I found card making a fair few years ago whilst watching a shopping channel.  Since then I seem to concentrate on stamping as they are so versatile.

I first met Barbara when she used to do craft shows at the motor cycle museum in Birmingham.  I wonder if Barbara can remember how long ago that was? I've loved watching her ever since and have crafted along with several of Barbara's 'in the classroom' shows which I really enjoy and of course Maria Simms in the 'take two' shows as well.

My one crafting dream would to be part of the Clarity design team.  Well dreams can come come true if you believe enough, well so they say....

We welcomed Barbara back onto our screens with the first Clarity show of 2014 and boy weren't we spoilt with the array of new and inviting stamps?  It wasn't surprising that there were so many sellouts with all the inspiration from the design team as well as the demo's from Barbara.  We also had the delights of Dean to accompany Barbara which is always a laugh a minute.

If you'd like a reminder of what was on todays shows we've got all of the stamps listed below along with some of the design teams artwork too.  We've even linked the stamps to the Clarity website to make it even easier to shop, aren't we kind to you?
